Turnip Boy Robs a Bank is the sequel to Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion, in fact it’s set days after the events of the first game. This time instead of being a Legend of Zelda style adventure game it’s a roguelite in a similar vein to Enter the Gungeon.
The game retains the daft sense of humour of its predecessor as well as some dated references (such as Gamergirl Bath Water) but strangely that feels in keeping with the charm of this game.

The aim of the game is to eventually get to the ‘mysterious motherlode’ but to do so it’s going to take multiple attempts. With the money you steal with each run you spend it on upgrades (in the form of stimulants) or items to help progress (bought from the Dark Web).

Honestly, there isn’t much to say about this game, it’s quite a short affair (I completed it in around five hours) but a lot of fun. If you enjoy games like Enter the Gungeon but want a game you can finish reasonably quickly I highly recommend giving this one a go.
