I don’t think it would be hyperbolic to say that Limbo is considered something of an indie darling, especially when you take into account how many awards it has won. Is there anything I can say about this game that hasn’t already been said? No, not really. By this point Limbo is fairly well trodden ground. So I’m not even going to try, what I can do is say this;
I dislike this game.
Oh, I recognise that its a well crafted game and its beautiful to look at in a depressing kind of way. You won’t hear me argue about those points. The thing is I’ve played and completed this game (it’s not exactly a long experience) quite a few times. Each time I was trying to work out exactly why I disliked it when everyone else around me seems to love it, and to be honest… I’m still not a hundred percent sure. It might be the trial and error style that most of the puzzles take on, or the floaty controls, or the lack of solid narrative or a combination of all of those. Either way it’s not my cup of tea.
