A young witch goes to a new place to learn how to be a better witch. While there she finds she has to take on a job as a delivery person. As she performs this role she makes a lot of friends and becomes beloved by the town. If what I just described seems familiar then it’s very likely you also have watched Kiki’s Delivery Service, and if you liked that film then you too will probably enjoy this game.
Mika and the Witches Mountain is a cosy, open world game. You play as the titular Mika, who has come to a small island to learn to be a witch. The little island that this game is set on has quite a lot to explore and opens up quite quickly.
While delivering parcels is the main thrust of this game, it isn’t the only thing you can do. There are temple trials that you can perform, time trail races to beat, tarot cards to find and secrets to discover. All while getting to wander around the very idyllic looking island.

I want to only speak well of this game, but I sadly have to say that it isn’t stable. In fact, and I hate to say this, Cyberpunk 2077 crashed less frequently and that game did it a lot. I know that the devs have said they’d fix the issue but from reading the Steam discussions on the subject it seems this has been a problem since its initial release into early access and its STILL not resolved. I can say this though, it seems to have something to do with loading screens as that’s when all my crashes occurred (and seems to be the same for others).
Even taking the crashes into account, I think this game is still worth playing. Thankfully, the game autosaves frequently enough that you only lose a few minutes of progress. If you believe you can put up with those crashes you’ll find a wonderful and very relaxing experience in this game.
