I’m not sure if this is yet another emerging genre or not but I’ve been seeing an increasing number of these ‘game within a game’ escape room games appearing. If you’re unaware of what I’m speaking of there are some games where you play another game within that game. The thing is what you do within that game in a game affects the world outside of it and sometimes the reverse is true. A good example is in this game, early on you can have the character on screen use a podium, the act of doing so writes the solution to a puzzle for the room the podium is in on the wall of the room the game screen is in. Meaning you need to look up from that virtual screen to see the answer.
This game uses these mechanics to great effect and in quite a few different ways (I won’t go into them as part of the fun is working out what to look for). It’s a fairly short game but I think that might work to its benefit, if this were longer than the four or so hours of play I got I think I would have become fatigued by it. As such this game manages to keep things feeling fresh and even has a few secrets that will reveal a different ending if found.

If you’re looking for a short game that will tease your brain a bit I think this game should be right down your alley. I’m going to have to keep an eye out for more games like this as I enjoyed this one a lot.
