Y’know I was going to do a whole full blown review on this game, it definitely deserves one and I had a lot of fun playing it. But then I realised something, I’d be essentially repeating myself. Mechanically speaking this game is pretty much the same as the previous one (Tomb Raider 2014), sure there are one or two differences but honestly they aren’t enough to warrant a full review of their own. The main difference that this game has is side missions that NPC’s can give you for rewards upon completion.
The story is certainly more interesting than the last games, at least in my opinion, and the Blood Ties DLC that comes with this version of the game really fleshes out the characters of Lara and her father.

Without wanting to sound reductive this game is what I would call an iteration series, in a similar way that the Assassin’s Creed games are. What I mean by that is that each title improves upon the last one while keeping the core mechanics the same. Of course I’m saying this without having played the last game in the series (thus far).
I really enjoyed my time with this game, so much so that I tried get 100% completion, sadly I failed in that goal. However, what it has done has made me very interested in playing the next in the series.
