It would be easy to call this game Vampire Survivors in space, and in a number of ways it is. But much like Boneraiser Minions this game does something to differentiate itself from its predecessor.
And what is that something different? It’s that every so often this game breaks its own rules.
You may be wondering what I mean by that, putting it simply this game establishes rules about how things work. If you take a certain type of upgrade then you are precluded from taking another. However, as you play this game, going on multiple runs you’ll start to unlock upgrades that override those rules.

That isn’t the only thing that this game does differently of course, unlike Vampire Survivors (and many others of the Survivor genre) there isn’t a time limit in place. Instead there is a threat level counter, as this increases the amount of enemies appearing increases, it will also increase the general health values of the enemies as well as the amount of damage they can cause. Every so often a boss will appear for you to defeat which upon being defeated will drop an item to let you unlock a new weapon.

This game was a lot of fun, it doesn’t quite have the addictive nature of Vampire Survivors (though given what I know of the developer of Vampire Survivors life after having watched a documentary about it, that isn’t surprising). Still, I feel this is a pretty damned good game for the price with a lot of replay value to it.
