It’s time once again for another entry in my sporadic ‘Not a Review’ series, this time looking at a game called ‘Them’s Fightin’ Herds’.
This game is being developed by a company called Mane6, with character designs created by the award winning Lauren Faust.
Mane6 were previously known for being the creators of a fan game of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic franchise that they called ‘Fighting Is Magic’. Unsurprisingly once Hasbro (the owners of the My Little Pony franchise) got wind of it they issued a cease and desist order stopping Mane6 in their tracks.
Luckily for them Lauren Faust (the creator of the latest incarnation of the My Little Pony franchise) had been keeping a watchful eye on them and decided to offer her services to design some unique characters for them to use. What you see here is raw gameplay of the result. It’s still in development so many things aren’t there and the only characters that are on show are these two but there are more in the pipeline.
I, for one, look forward to seeing how this turns out and have put forward my own support in this endeavor by supporting their crowdfunding effort. I see this possibly going the way of Skullgirls with more characters being added as DLC (although nothing like that has been confirmed).
