There are so many roguelite hack and slash games out there and honestly this one does very little to differentiate itself from the pack. I know that sounds damning, but not every game can be a grand slam. I do wish to state, this isn’t a bad game by any means, it just doesn’t really stand out from the pack.
So in this game you take on the role of an intern named Jackie, the internship she’s applied for is in Marketing but she quickly gets put to work dealing with pest control. In this case the pests are creatures called Joblins (yes like goblins), and so you need to go deal with them by invading their offices.
As is usually the case with roguelites the offices (which are the dungeons in this game) are randomly generated, as are the various skills and weapons you find.
I don’t generally like to do this but I find that it’s somewhat unavoidable for me to not compare this game to its peers, specifically Hades. Hades is only an extra £5 but from that you get far more than this game provides and if Hades were a one off that would be different but it isn’t. There are many other games in this genre that you could go for instead that provide more. As such, this is a game that I can recommend but only if you’re running low on good roguelites.
