I do love a first person puzzle game. Actually, correction; I love a GOOD first person puzzle game. Something which sadly Fabric is not. The concept itself is unique enough, bend spacetime to solve puzzles. That sounds great but it’s the execution of the concept that falls flat for me. In part I actually think this is due to the visuals, blocks floating in a black void just don’t really do it for me. I’m sure the developer was trying to go for a sleek and elegant look but I’m afraid what I mostly got out of it was boredom.

Mechanically the game is sound, it takes a while for you to get your head around the idea of entire sections of the level disappearing. But I’m afraid this game just doesn’t grip me. A mechanic alone isn’t enough to carry a game for me, I need a reason to play be that a narrative, a character or an interesting world. This game has none of this, at least not to me.
