I think we can all agree that there are a lot of zombie games out there, I think we also can agree that there are many roguelites out there too. But are there many zombie roguelites? To be honest, probably. Are they good though? The answer there is no, most aren’t and a whole slew of them are either copy paste or asset flips. Basingstoke isn’t that though.
I’ve had a lot of fun with this game, from the beginning tense moments when every zombie and alien (yeah turns out aliens too) is a huge threat and I have to carefully sneak past them all to the moment I start equipping myself and suddenly I can defend myself.

The simplistic artstyle belies how challenging this game actually is. You die in a single hit and of course this being a zombie (and alien apparently) apocalypse you are incredibly outnumbered. Thankfully you can use items to your advantage such as throwing a sandwich or a kebab… it seems zombies like those.
There are multiple classes for you to unlock as you play that can make things easier or much harder for yourself, I’ve not unlocked them all so I can’t say for certain which I prefer.
It’s daft, I think that’s the best way to describe it but daft doesn’t mean bad. I can tell you that after I’m done here I’ll be going back to work on unlocking some of the other classes.
