This blast review is a bit of an unusual one, ordinarily I use blast reviews to show games that I’ve played but have little of substance to really speak on or that I feel that are interesting but not for me. In this case though I’m using this format simply because I’m not good enough at the game to really do it justice. What I mean to say is the game is too difficult for me to get beyond the basic parts. I’m not too big to admit that there are some genres of game that simply aren’t something I excel at. Beat Em Ups (like Street Fighter) is one such genre.

Aztez is a beat em up and a strategy game. You build your empire by fighting in events and dependant on how well you do you’ll gain rewards… or lose your combatant. Sadly this means that someone who is just AWFUL at beat em ups is going to be restarting their game really really often.

Putting it simply my lack of skill has meant that I can’t really get into the real meat of this game. Believe me I tried and tried and tried. I played this game for over a week and I was lucky if I could manage five turns before my empire fell due to my ineptitude at combat. Its a real shame because what little I could do I really enjoyed, and I think the artstyle is wonderful. I’m only sorry that I can’t give this game a real review.
