What is a Peglin? Well, it’s a goblin that likes pegs… I think. However, in the context of this game Peglin is a blend of roguelite mechanics, deck building (but with balls) and pachinko. Some of you might not know what Pachinko is so I’ll just copy the Wikipedia definition “A mechanical ball-dropping game similar to pinball, popular in Japan.”.
In this game you play as a little green Goblin, or rather, a Peglin, who is on a journey to defeat a dragon. On the way your Peglin will need to overcome slimes, guards, ghosts and all sorts of other creatures. This is all done by playing pachinko, but not in the normal way. You see, each peg you hit on the way down will reduce the enemy by a hit point. Some pegs are special though and can cause critical hits, or allow you to throw bombs doing much more damage. The balls you drop can have special powers too (though the game calls them orbs), some firing lightning or adding poison etc. Lastly there are relics that you can collect on your journey by defeating powerful enemies, finding them in chests or purchasing them from Haglin.

This is a fun little roguelite, that being said I did find that after playing for a few days I did find myself growing a little bored of it. Much of that can be attributed to the fact that I binged it, and this is a game that I feel really should be played in short bursts.
It is satisfying to find the various synergies in the balls and relics, just watching enemies melt in front of you.
