When I first started this game I originally thought that it was going to be similar to Pikmin. Of course, I had never actually played Pikmin but I had watched videos of it which is totally the same thing, right? Well, thankfully those videos did actually make it so that I was at least able to say fairly confidently that Tinykin isn’t like Pikmin.
So how is this not like Pikmin? The main factor for me in differentiating it is that there’s no element of strategy in this. Tinykin is more of a puzzle platformer than anything else, in fact the core of this game is using the Tinykin to solve puzzles. There are no battles and there’s no time limit, in fact it’s a pretty casual game.

As puzzle platformers go this one doesn’t really hold any challenges that will have you stumped for long (well, unless you’re a completionist who wants to find every last collectible).
I try not to use the descriptor ‘charming’ when speaking about a game because it’s often overused and honestly doesn’t mean a lot. However, I did find myself charmed by this game, I loved the quirkiness of the levels, and the world that the developers had created (and yes some of the references too, hard not to love a reference to Iroh and Zuko when I spot one in the wild).
I’m very glad I picked this game up, and I feel that it would be a shame to skip it.
