I’ve been following the progress of Hellraid for quite some time and was disappointed when it got cancelled back in 2018. So you can imagine my surprise when this pops up as a DLC for Dying Light, a game that I’ve already been very impressed by. Unfortunately this DLC isn’t what I was hoping for. Perhaps I was a bit spoiled since the last piece of DLC I played for this game was The Following so I expected more but this DLC seems so… lacklustre.

It doesn’t make use of the gorgeous visuals that Dying Light can produce, instead placing you within a tower that would fit in well with the original Quake. Brown is the colour of the day here, lots of varying shades of brown with the odd splash of colour here and there but still mostly brown.
It also strips away the ability to repair and modify your weapons. Sure, it adds in its own progression system but part of what made Dying Light so much fun was the ability to modify your weapons. The final disappointment is the enemies… they’re just reskins! There isn’t a single new enemy type that you won’t face in the main campaign.

Honestly, skip this DLC, it’s not worth the money.
