This is the final DLC for Atomic Heart and is the conclusion of the plot that has spanned throughout the main game and DLC’s.
My thoughts when it comes to this DLC are mixed, there are quite a lot of things I like about it but several things I feel let it down. The problem is that those things I like about the DLC are actually the same things I liked about the game as a whole. The combat continues to remain interesting and engaging, especially the boss fights. I like the optional puzzles you can find as well, but again that was in the base game.
Most of my more negative thoughts actually are regarding the story and how rushed it felt. I understand that this is the conclusion so it’s going to feel like everything is rushing headlong into the ending. My biggest bugbear though is that (at the time of writing) there’s a strange delay when interacting with NPC’s. To explain, when you speak to them you get some dialogue from them and then a choice of responses. However, there’s a few seconds delay from when they stop speaking to when the responses you can pick from appear. This gives the NPC’s a more uncanny and creepy feeling as they stare at you.

The thing is despite all the negative things I’ve just said, I did enjoy this DLC. As I mentioned the combat continues to be interesting and with the introduction of the new ‘polymeric’ enemies it becomes something of a rock, paper, scissors style puzzle. If they turn into flames hit them with your new cold powers if they become ice, use your new fire powers. Or alternatively you can just shoot them until they stop moving, that also works, it just takes a lot longer.
I also wonder if the developers played Titanfall 2, because there’s a section you play through that feels not too dissimilar to one in that game, in a good way.
