Gris is what I suppose you could call an emotion platformer. There are quite a few games that earn the ‘emotion’ tag, such as Celeste and arguably Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice. I want to state this now I am not using this tag to belittle or deride these games in anyway, I haven’t played Celeste yet and I know how good Hellblade is. I simply mean that these games deal with and are centred around the protagonists emotional state.

I really enjoyed my time with this game and found the aesthetic of line art and watercolour to be extremely captivating and reminds me a lot of the art nouveau movement (not sure if that was intentional on the part of the developers).

Forgive the extremely short review on this one but I’m afraid this is a game that you kinda just have to experience yourself to get a real feel for it. I had previously watched some videos of the game on youtube and they truly don’t capture the experience. However it must be mentioned that this game is about 4 hours long, I think that that amount of time is just fine but some might object.
