Abzu is the most zen game I have ever had the privilege of playing. In fact its so zen I’m not actually sure the title of ‘game’ fits it, its more of a experience or even a relaxation tool. My thoughts on this have got nothing to do with the lack of failure state or anything so minor as that. It’s actually something I’ve found hard to quantify but I suppose my best explanation would be to say that it doesn’t ‘feel’ like a game, in the same way that a walk in the park doesn’t feel like participating in a race.

I’m probably going to keep this game installed for a while, to help my clear my mind and relax after a long day. If I do have an issue with this though it’d be the price tag since the whole thing is maybe 3 hours long at best. But that actually didn’t affect me as I got it for free when Epic were giving it away.
