Paradise Killer is rather unique in that it’s an open world detective game, I would love to say it was completely unique but LA Noire exists. However, with the exception of that one similarity, Paradise Killer really is unique in many other ways. You have an entire island to explore and seek out clues to the identity of the killer, and what an island it is. I’ve played many games in my life and none have such a strange yet absolutely stunning art direction.
Due to the nature of the game I really can’t speak on the plot without spoiling it, what I will say though is that it mixes in a lot of mythological and theological concepts along with a heavy dose of sci-fi.
This game really is something that only could be created by an indie developer because no triple A (or double A even) would be willing to create something so… outlandish. This is an absolute must for anyone who likes a good mystery and craves something different.
