Mike Bithell is back at it again, yet another game that loosely links to the games that came before it. However this time it’s not a detective game or a platformer. No, this time it’s a card game, or specifically one of the most well known card games in the world: Solitaire.
Like with most games that try to use Solitaire as their main mechanic this game puts its own twist on it. In this version each card suit represents a crew of agents and the face cards (Jack, Queen and King) have special abilities that can be used once per game. What makes this even more interesting is that there are (I believe) six different crews, each with their own abilities. That isn’t to say you’ll use all six on any mission, the most you get is four.

The introduction of these powers adds a level of tactical thinking, as there are several powers that if used incorrectly can really set you back. But you can never lose from making a mistake, in fact you can’t lose at all (unless you play the pro mode which sets a turn limit).
It’s a fun little distraction for sure but I much preferred the previous games. Still, if you enjoy Solitaire this is a good one to play.
