I love that this game has received a sequel, the first one was such a wonderfully relaxing game to play, its only real flaw was that the pool of buildings to use wasn’t that large. In this game they’ve gone some way to fix that by really expanding the buildings available. On top of that many of these new buildings have their own special rules on how they score; for example the fortune teller building base value is determined by how many buildings you have in your toolbar.

Just like in its predecessor this game utilises the ‘sphere of influence’ system (I still cannot think of a better term) I’ll quote myself on how it works;
“Each building has a sphere of influence, if another building (or terrain feature in some cases) enters the sphere it affects the score value and depending on the type of building it can be a positive or negative effect.”

The graphics have been improved upon too, the changes are subtle as they’ve kept the celshaded look but it’s in the small details, such as how the waves move. I actually didn’t notice these changes until I compared my screenshots from this game and the last one. I’m glad they didn’t try to do something realistic, it wouldn’t have suited the overall ethos of this game.

Definitely a game to play, especially when you just want something chill but that also needs some level of brainpower. It’s well worth the time and money.
