This is yet another of those games where I have several pages of notes, more than enough to write a long form review, but if I were to do so I’d end up dropping some rather major spoilers. So instead it’s going to have to be a blast review.
In Stars and Time is a timelooping RPG where you play as a character called Siffrin. In classic RPG terms Siffrin essentially is the rogue of the party, though there is no sneak attack or stealing in this game. This brings me to the combat, which is actually very simple as it’s literally rock, paper, scissors and I do mean literally. Each member of your party has a ‘craft’ they are good at and one that they are weak to. That ‘craft’ is rock, paper or scissors. Of course, they also have other skills that buff, heal and debuff.

As you play through the game you’ll be trying to work out why you (and only you) are looping through time. With this time looping ability you’ll be working out puzzles and solving problems before they happen. Of course, you don’t actually have any real control over the power, you can only time loop when you die. There is an upside to it, you get to keep all the experience you gained from each loop, your other companions aren’t so lucky though. So very quickly you’ll find you outpower them vastly.
Honestly I could go on about this game. It’s extremely good and very well thought out, it touches on so many subjects that many developers would shy away from. It’s also very LGBTQ friendly without being in your face about it (not that I mind that), I honestly wasn’t expecting that from this game. This is an extremely interesting game to play and well worth your time. I really feel I’m doing a disservice to it by writing such a short review but it’s truly a game best experienced for yourself.
