The Fridge Reviews

My most anticipated games for this year (2015)

Well we’re quite firmly into 2015 now aren’t we? Of course its not like we can go back… not that I want to, 2014 had a awful lot of nonsense in it. So the question is what have we got to look forward to this year?

Grim Fandango Remastered

I loved this game when it came out and I still have the original disc, sadly though its incompatible with modern systems (unless you’re a code wizard, which I’m not). So when I heard there was a new remastered version appearing this made me a very happy man.

Hyper Light Drifter

Being one of its backers on Kickstarter I’m very much looking forward to finally having a go at this interesting looking title. Something about its design aesthetic appeals to me.

Warhammer Quest

As someone who used to play the orginial tabletop Warhammer game, Space Hulk and Hero Quest this game appeals to me on many levels.

Torment: Tides of Numenera

This was the first game I ever backed, what can I say? I’m a sucker for a good cause plus these guys are behind some of my favorite games of all time.

Dying Light

Originally I saw this and thought “Don’t we already have Dead Island for this?” but the more I see and hear on this the more I can’t wait for it to come. Of course I don’t really do multiplayer so all my excitement for this may be for nought if they focus on that.

The Pillars of Eternity

Yet another game I backed, I know Obsidian have created some flawed games in the past, most of which I’ve enjoyed. But this time they’re making a game without the breath of a publisher down their necks, hopefully this will translate into a game with very few flaws and lots of attention to detail. Only time will tell.

Rise of the Tomb Raider

I liked the last one so the theory is I’ll enjoy this one too. I just hope they don’t get lazy and make this one the same as the last because as much as I enjoyed the previous one I do want some change.

Paradise Lost

Fancy playing as a sentient alien plant trying to escape a research facility? Sure, I’ll bite. It seems to be a stealth game… sort of. Guess what? I backed this one too.

Shadow Realms

This one was a bit of a surprise to me because I think I wouldn’t mind the multiplayer aspect of this. Particularly if I get to play as the Shadow Master… I do love the idea of being able to act as a games master, setting traps for other players etc.

Please forgive the lack of screenshots for this but all the sources I found had them at different resolutions and I wanted to keep this neat.
