What is it with pinball getting mixed in with other genres lately? I’m not complaining, because so far those that I have played have been, at worst, pretty good.
As you might have guessed from my opening sentence Creature in the Well (yes, it’s ‘Creature in the Well’ not ‘The Creature in the Well’) is a game that mixes pinball with another genre, the genre in this case is hack and slash. You play as a Engineer robot that goes to a town that’s been stuck inside a sandstorm for centuries, its your task to activate the machine inside a mountain. However there’s a rather large creature that really doesn’t want you to.
An interesting aspect of this game is that unlike say… Yoku’s Island Delivery Service you don’t paly as the ball. No, in this case you’re the paddle, a paddle that can move and aim itself. Now you’d think that would make the game easier but it really doesn’t.

I’d actually call this game a casual game because death doesn’t really stop you, sure you get kicked out of the mountain but all the progress you’ve made (such as doors that are open) remain. Sure traps reset you can now run past them to the door.
I have to say I really enjoyed my time with this game, its a pretty short one… or it would’ve been if I was actually, y’know, good at it. Give this game a look!
