The Following takes place after the events of Dying Light’s story. In this DLC it seems that there’s a community just beyond the walls of Harran that are immune to the zombie virus and don’t turn even when bitten. Of course such a thing is too good to not at least investigate and so Kyle Crane finds his way beyond the city of Harrans borders.

Unlike all the other DLC this particular one must be accessed through the main menu and through the ‘Play’ button. From there you import your save from the main game so that your stats and equipment go across with you.

Techland have outdone themselves, this DLC takes play within the countryside of Harran, and I have to say that the scenery is absolutely gorgeous. Although, a word to the wise, I would recommend dialling back your graphical settings (unless you have a beast of a PC) as the countryside seems to be a bit more demanding than the main game.

The countryside of Harran is large and unlike the city there really isn’t that much for you to be able to clamber and jump over. This is where the new skill tree of ‘Driver’ is introduced.
Within this DLC you’ll get to drive a buggy across the large landscape that is the countryside, as you drive you’ll run over zombies (naturally) and, most likely, do some ‘Duke’s of Hazard’ style jumps. Doing all of these things gives you points in your driver skill. As you rank up in the skill you’ll unlock upgrades for your buggy as well as some additional things like an electric cage to get rid of ‘hangers on’.

Of course vehicles need fuel, thankfully fuel isn’t that hard to come by as you’ll find it at abandoned petrol stations as well as in the fuel tanks of other vehicles that you’ll see abandoned on the roadside.

This DLC revolves around a mysterious religious sect that won’t deal with you until you’ve earned their trust. Thankfully this is pretty easy to do as it’ll increase as you ‘serve the community’ or in gaming speak… through completing quests. Once you reach a certain level of trust the main story line will open up.

Yeah this is well worth the time to play, though I’ll admit it really started to make me think more of Far Cry than Dying Light after a while.
