This is one of those games you play as you listen to a podcast or some music you like. There’s no story, no endless side quests, no open world, just you and the task directly in front of you. Sometimes the task is driving a truck, sometimes its mowing a lawn or even using a power washer, in this case, you repair toys.
I’ve recently heard a term for these types of games; ‘Post Dad’. I’m not sure, where it came from but the name certainly does fit. What I can say for certain is that this game hits all the right notes. That isn’t to say it’s not without it’s irksome traits, there are several and I’ll mention some momentarily. But on the whole this game succeeds in the task of giving a game where you can perform simple tasks that allow you to just kind of… zone out.

As I mentioned earlier there are some issues I have with this game, chief among them is a quality of life issue. For example; why do items have to go back to the workbench from cleaning (as well as many other tasks) when I’m only going to put them into the paint station anyway, why not just drop them directly into the paint station? It’s not like we have to wait until they’re dry first since that’s instant. Another annoyance is that after every toy has been successfully restored you get a pop up saying you need to take a photo of it. There doesn’t seem to be any way to turn off this dialogue box in the options menu which is a bit infuriating when you’ve already restored twenty toys.
So, my final thoughts. Not a bad game, there are far better ones I could recommend such as House Flipper or Power Wash Simulator, but as this genre goes its not bad at all.
