Little Kitty, Big City is a cosy open world game where you play as the titular little kitty. The premise of the game is that the little kitty has fallen from their window perch and wants to make their way back home, the problem being that home is quite a long way up.
This game features a compact and densely packed sandbox for you to explore. As you explore the map you’ll encounter other animals each of which want assistance from you. Here’s the thing, with the exception of the crow at the start of the game you don’t actually need to help any of the other animals. They’re all side missions that only give rewards in the form of a hat or an emote. That being said, I did them all anyway because the missions were fun and I really wanted to get all the hats.
The main thing you’re trying to find are fish, with each fish that you find and consume your climbing time gets longer, thus allowing you to make your way back home.

Besides the main objective and the side quests given by the other animals there are ‘Cat-chievements’ to discover and complete. These are things like knocking over a set amount of objects, sitting in boxes, finding napping spots etc. Again these gain you nothing (well, nothing but a Steam achievement anyway), but are incredibly fun to do.
That’s the thing with this game, it’s all chilled low stakes fun. There’s no health to consider, you can fling the little kitty off of the tallest building in the game and they’ll be fine. There are no enemies, not even cars to avoid, the closest thing you’ll find to an enemy are people that pick you up to take you out of a space they don’t want you to be in or a lady with a hosepipe.
Give this game a go if you want a nice relaxed game to play, it’s fairly short too, especially if you focus on just finishing the main objective. But if you do that then you’ve missed the point of this game.
